The Serbian Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic received French Order of Merit on Monday March 23 in the French Embassy in Belgrade.
Medal of the National Order of Merit is awarded by the President of the French Republic and is a significant and prestigious French medal established in 1963 by President Charles de Gaulle.
In her speech, the French Ambassadeur in Belgrade Ms. Moro said that France wanted to honor the institution of the Ombudsman, which has acquired Serbia in 2007, and underlined the qualities of rigor , impartiality and courage shown by Mr. Jankovic in the exercise of his functions. She stressed that the administration was following the recommendations in 70 % of cases and that more and more citizens attested their trust in the institution of the ombudsman.
