On 10 August 2026 the Ombudsman for Children’s Office (OCO) hosted the third meeting of the All-Island Forum on Ombudsman and AI with representatives from Ombudsman offices across the country. The chair, Nuala Ward (OCO) was delighted to welcome Munish Ramlal, the Ombudsman Metropool Amsterdam and his team, as part of their drive to put human rights, fairness and accountability at the heart of AI.

La organización del encuentro reforzará la proyección internacional de la Diputación del Común y situará a Canarias como sede del principal foro mundial de las instituciones de defensa de los derechos de la ciudadanía. La respuesta de las defensorías del pueblo ante los movimientos migratorios y el impacto del cambio climático centrarán las prioridades estratégicas del congreso. La cita reunirá en el Archipiélago a representantes de más de 100 países de todo el mundo y coincidirá con el 50.º aniversario del Instituto Internacional del Ombudsman (IIO).
