    On 6 June 2024, Human Rights Ombudsman Peter Svetina handed over the 29th regular Annual Report of the Human Rights Ombudsman and the 16th report of the National Preventive Mechanism for 2023 to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Urška Klakočar Zupančič, MA, after he had forwarded it to the National Assembly one day prior in accordance with Article 5 of the Human Rights Ombudsman Act. After the meeting, the Ombudsman and the Speaker of the DZ made a public statement.

    CCAC detects alleged false asset declarations made by public servants

    The CCAC received a report claiming that two public servants of the Social Welfare Bureau violated the provision of exclusivity by engaging in part-time work and provided false information in the declarations of assets and interests, thus allegedly violating the Legal Regime of Declaration of Assets and Interests.

    Ombudsman Sindh orders restoration of service of prison officers

    Taking cognizance of an illegal and arbitrary administrative order the Ombudsman Sindh, Asad Ashraf Malik directed the Inspector General of Prisons Sindh, to withdraw cancellation orders of appointment of eight candidates for the post of warders and restore their services with retrospective effect. The Ombudsman issued these orders on complaint filed by one of the aggrieved candidates.

    In its special report, the Office of the Greek Ombudsman stated, that forced returns of third country nationals to their countries of origin are further reduced in 2022, however, the number of detainees in Pre-removal Centres and Police stations is disproportionately high.     On 8 April 2025, the Public Service Ombudsman for Wales published a new Public Interest report highlighting significant shortcomings in the patient’s post-operative care, failures in the informed consent process and inadequate contract monitoring arrangements in place between Betsi Cadwalader University Health Board and Health Trusts in England.
