IOI Best Practice Papers
The IOI introduces a new publication series of best practice papers with a view to provide guidance material in the form of a series of papers to address the key features which inform strong and independent control mechanisms.
IOI Annual Reports
The IOI publishes its Annual Report every year, to inform about membership matters as well as about IOI projects in the past and in the future. The Report is released in the three official languages of the IOI (English, French, Spanish).
IOI History
In order to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its foundation in 1978, the IOI decided to embark on a publication project and commissioned Professor Richard Carver, Senior Lecturer in Human Rights and Governance at Oxford Brooks University, with the task of writing a “History of the IOI”. Print copies of Richard Carver's book on “A Mission to Justice – The International Ombudsman Institute 1978-2018” can be purchased from the IOI.

The key data of all IOI member institutions is available on the IOI website and the Secretariat is continuously working to improve the available data. The IOI Directory itself can be easily downloaded in PDF format for further use.
Bangkok 2016 - Conference Papers
The 11thIOI World Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2016. Under the general motto of "Evolution of Ombudsmanship", delegates and observers from all over the world discussed a great variety of Ombudsman-related matters. Wellington 2012 - Conference Papers
The 10th IOI World Conference held in Wellington, New Zealand in November 2012 convened around 300 delegates and observers from all over the world. Key note addresses as well as copies of the conference papers and slides can be found here.
Stockholm 2009 - Conference Papers
The 9th IOI World Conference held in Stockholm in June 2009 convened 340 delegates and observers from more than 90 countries. Key note addresses were delivered by the former Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr Kofi A. Annan and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms Navanethem Pillay. The papers are available online.
