The Caribbean Ombudsman Association (CAROA) and the Ombudsman for Bermuda are pleased to invite you to attend the 10th Biennial CAROA conference and training which will be held from 28 - 31 May 2019 at the Fairmont Southampton Resort in Bermuda.
The theme for the two-day conference is “Strengthening the Role and Performance of the Ombudsman and Human Rights Institutions in the Caribbean and Latin America”. The program will comprise informative sessions to benefit you in the work of your offices. The conference will conclude with the CAROA General Meeting and election of Council.
Following the conference CAROA further invites you to take advantage of a first-class training.The training will be held by Dr. Victor Ayeni, a well-known international authority on the Ombudsman and related oversight institutions, who was a proponent of establishing CAROA. The theme for the training is “Advancing the Ombudsman’s Impact, Role, Service and Performance”. The sessions will be interactive and facilitated through a combination of presentations, case studies and practical exercises.
The training is brought to you with the financial support of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI). There is no cost to register for the conference, but it is very important for CAROA to know how many people to expect to ensure that there are enough rooms available. CAROA therefore asks that all participants, who are planning to attend the conference, to register by Friday, 5 April 2019.
