IOI | 10th World Conference & by-laws reform

The Board carefully considered all of the suggested amendments and ideas put forward by IOI members in the final phase of consultation in September 2012. We are grateful to all those who took the time to provide us with such a rich menu of comments.

We have now achieved a document which will govern the IOI’s operations in a changed and changing world to which we must remain responsive and we are pleased to provide you with the final draft document prior to the Conference in Wellington.

At the 10th IOI World Conference held in Wellington, New Zealand, institutional members in good standing will be asked to vote for the adoption of these new by-laws during the General Assembly on 13 November 2012 (10.30 am to 5.00 pm Wellington local time). We have set aside the whole of the first day of the World Conference to debate and vote on the By-laws. We hope that the debate will be free and frank so that all of us have confidence in the direction we want the IOI to take.

The final draft document of the revised IOI By-laws is now accessible in the MEMBER LOGIN area of this website (item “Internal News”).
