HUNGARY | 4th Newsletter on the situation on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border

In his current newsletter editions, the Hungarian Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, Dr. Ákos Kozma, focuses on visit of the Greek Ombudsman and International Ombudsman Institute Europe Regional Head Andreas Pottakis and Slovenian Ombudsman Peter Svetina and his Deputy regarding the war in Ukraine and the refugee situation in Hungary and its borders.

At their visit Greek Ombudsman Andreas Pottakis, Slovenian Ombudsman Peter Svetina and his assistent were informed about the application conditions, people fleeing the war in Ukraine and other possibilities to provide them with more effective assistance.

Andreas Pottakis, Peter Svetina and Dr. Ákos Kozma visited the temporary regional office of the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary at the Záhony railway station, the Záhony and Čop border crossing, and the collection point in Beregsurány, where the Hungarian ombudsman opened another temporary regional office of the Hungarian Commissioner for Fundamental Rights (OFCR) and is providing direct support to refugees.
