The I.O.I. Board of Directors meeting is taking place in Bermuda from 16 to 20 October 2010 and is hosted by the Bermuda ombudsman Arlene Brock. One year after the transition process from Canada to Austria and after the last meeting in Vienna in November 2009, the Board of Directors Meeting will be taking decisions as to the future priorities of the Institute.
"I am pleased to inform the Board on the activities of the General Secretariat in the past twelve months. The I.O.I. has started to install the first comprehensive library on ombudsman institutions world-wide consisting of more than 3.500 ombudsman-related documents such as annual reports, legal foundations, newsletters, studies and publications from 125 different countries. A new website of the I.O.I. will soon go online with an extensive member database and a comprehensive I.O.I. directory. In November, the I.O.I. General Secretariat will be hosting a first training programme for Ombudsmen", reported General Secretary of the I.O.I. to the Board.
The I.O.I. Board that consists of members from all I.O.I. regions will also perform elections of the President, the Vice-President and the Treasurer.
