“Informal Resolution of Disputes (IRD) – Pakistan’s Experience”

Webinar / 14 June 2023

The Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA), in pursuance of the decision of the 23rd meeting of the AOA Board of Directors, will hold a webinar on the topic of “Informal Resolution of Disputes (IRD) – Pakistan’s Experience” on 14 June 2023.

In two sessions, the webinar will discuss the matter of IRD and the need of the general public for resolving their complaints at the grass root level without hiring services of advocates or waiting for lengthy legal processes. This mechanism involves resolution through mediation rather than decisions through strict processes or procedures and it draws from the strength of the system of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), which has existed and evolved with the formal judicial system in many parts of the world.

Speaking at this webinar will be Mr. Shahzar Illahi, co-founder and Associate Director of Musaliha Center for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (MICADR), and Justice (Retd.) M. raza Khan, currently Senior Adviser (Law) in the Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat Islamabad.

The AOA is pleased to offer this webinar to AOA and IOI member institutions alike. In order to attend the workshop, please fill in the registration form further down blow and return it via e-mail to the AOA Secretariat by 12 June 2023. The language of this webinar will be English only.
