Ombudsman under threat – a facilitated discussion

Ombudsman’s Day is 10th October. In commemoration of Ombudsman’s Month and to raise awareness of the Ombudsman institution, the African Ombudsman Research Centre (AORC) will be hosting a two-hour facilitated discussion via Zoom on the 27 October 2020 around the threats facing the Ombudsman institution.
This facilitated discussion is an excellent opportunity to discuss the threats and challenges facing the Ombudsman institution in Africa, how these threats and challenges are overcome and also to unpack the strategy of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) for supporting Ombudsman under threat all over the world.
Speakers at this webinar include Advocate John Walters, Ombudsman of Namibia; Hon. Florence Kajuju, Chairperson of the Commission of Administrative Justice, Kenya and General Secretary of AOMA; and Werner Amon, Secretary General of the International Ombudsman Institute.
