BackIn celebration of the women’s month in South Africa, the African Ombudsman Research Centre (AORC), the training and research arm of the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA), has planned a series of webinars for African Ombudsman and their staff.
The topic will be centred around the discussion of the challenges faced by women Ombudsman in a patriarchal African society and how woman Ombudsman can make a difference in the lives of the poor and marginalized.
These webinars are an excellent opportunity to discuss the challenges of women Ombudsman in a patriarchal African society, how these challenges are overcome and also to highlight the unique strengths that women Ombudsman are able to offer to make a difference in the lives of the poor and marginalized, as they often have a different approach to finding solutions to problems.
The webinars will enhance the capacity of Ombudsman throughout the continent in their tasks of making a positive difference in the lives of the poor and marginalized.

- English / Portuguese: Friday, 28 August 2020 (10 AM SA) GMT+2.
- French / Arabic: Monday, 31 August 2020 (10 AM SA) GMT+2.
Please note that due to time constraints, there will not be a live question and answer segment. Participants may however submit relevant questions to Franky Lwelela or Marion Adonis by no later than 10h00 on Thursday 27 August 2020 for the English/Portuguese and Friday 28th August 2020 for the French/ Arabic. Alternatively, participants may pose their questions via the Q & A function during the webinar as time has been allocated for a response to questions raised before and during the session. If there is insufficient time to respond to all, the questions and answers will be sent to participants after the webinar.
