INDIA | Appointment of Justice Maheshwari as deputy Ombudsman

Honourable Justice Mr. U.C. Maheshwari, Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur bench at Gwalior (M.P.) took oath as Up-Lokayukt (Deputy Ombudsman) M.P. on 28 June 2016. He was administered oath of office by outgoing Lokayukt Justice Mr. P.P. Naolekar.

Justice U.C. Maheshwari was born on 02 November 1955 and enrolled as an advocate in 1977. He practiced extensively in Civil, Criminal and Revenue related cases at the MP High Court. He was elevated as a Judge to MP High Court on 11 October 2004 where he served with distinction till he demitted his office on 27 June 2016 and took up the current assignment.

 After assuming charge, Justice Mr. U.C. Maheshwari directed the field units of Lokayukt Sangathan to swiftly redress public complaints regarding corruption and clear the backlog of cases to ensure a more responsive vigilance administration.
