The University of Applied Sciences Vienna (FH Campus Wien) is conducting a study on the role of Ombudsman institutions in the context of the growing digitalization of public services worldwide.
Prof.(FH) Dr. Julia Dahlvik, socio-legal scholar at the University of Applied Sciences Vienna, is spearheading this project and invites IOI member institutions to share their vast experience in this field and to participate in a short online survey (approx. 5 minutes). The link to the short online survey can be found here. The survey should be filled in by a person who has knowledge about complaint behaviour. Dr. Dahlvik would also very much appreciate if Ombudsman colleagues would consider participating in a short (online or telephone) interview, to gain more insight on their experiences.
Dr. Dahlvik has led a sociological research study on the occasion of the Austrian Ombudsman Board’s 40th anniversary. The IOI Board of Directors therefore fully endorsed a proposal from Austrian Ombudsman and IOI Secretary General Werner Amon and encourages IOI member institutions to actively contribute to this study (see letter in the download section for more details).
Research on this topic is still quite rare and of utmost importance, considering the rapid development we all witnessed in this area during the last years of the Covid-19 pandemic. The analysis and outcome of this study will therefore be of great benefit to Ombudsman institutions worldwide.
If you have any more questions on the study itself, or if you would like to express your interest in taking part in an interview, please contact Dr. Dahlvik directly via email.
