ASIA | Chairman of ACRC Korea elected to IOI Board of Directors

Following the regional meeting of the IOI’s Asian Region, held in Japan in March 2016, the IOI General Secretariat carried out an electronic ballot to confirm the sole nomination of Mr Yung-hoon Sung, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) Korea.

Mr Yung-hoon Sung was confirmed by majority as new Asian Director. In his letter of acceptance, Mr Sung confirmed that: “It would be a great honor and responsibility to serve as a director to represent the Asian Region with the IOI.”

Mr Sung took office as ACRC Chairman in December 2015. Before joining the ACRC, he worked as a public prosecutor for about 30 years in various posts at the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecution Service of Korea, including Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice.

The IOI Board of Directors welcomes Mr Sung and is looking forward to a fruitful and close cooperation.
