HUNGARY | Commissioner for Fundamental Rights presents Annual Report 2012

The Report on the Activities of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and His Deputies in the Year 2012 was officially presented to the public on the 4th June, 2013.

Significantly more people turned to the ombudsman in 2012 than before. The Ombudsman’s Office received 5,191 complaints in 2011; a number which increased to a total of 7,049 complaints in 2012. According to the Ombudsman’s report, this reflects both the institution’s growing reputation and the contradictory character of the attempts of the government to solve the current economic, social, political and legal crisis.

The findings of the report can be found on the website of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights.
