BackThe Deputy head of department for observance of the rights of child, non-discrimination and gender equality Mr. Sergiy Ponomariov took part in the V session of the Forum for minorities, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities.
In the Palace of Nations, in the headquarters of the UN European office (Geneva), participants of the Forum discussed the main problems and challenges, existing best practices, and also prospects of practical implementation of the Declaration for ensuring the rights of minorities. In his address Mr. Sergiy Ponomariov acquainted participants with the work of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the sphere of ensuring observance of the rights of ethnic minorities.
