KENYA | Commissioners pay courtesy visits on Coast Regional Commissioner and Mombasa Governor

The visit, which incorporated their induction, also saw them pay courtesy calls on Mombasa County Governor and the Coast Regional Commissioner and his team.

Commission Chairperson, Hon. Florence Kajuju, led the team comprising of Vice Chairperson, Mr. Washington Sati, Commissioner Lucy Ndung’u, Commission Secretary, Mr. Leonard Ngaluma, and Directors.

Mombasa Deputy Governor, Dr. William Kingi, who received the Chairperson and her team expressed his appreciation for the support the Commission had extended to the county by training its officers in complaints management. The collaboration has seen the Commission provide technical assistance to Mombasa County to set up its complaints handling infrastructure and establish an Ombudsman’s office. The office is headed by Ms. Khadija Yusuf.

The team later visited Coast Regional Commissioner, Mr. Bernard Leparmarai, and his Coast region security team drawn from five counties. The County Commissioners who were present included Mr. Evans Achoki (Mombasa County), Mr. Karuku Ngumo (Kwale County), Ms. Rhoda Onyancha (Taita-Taveta County), Mr. Magu Mutindika (Kilifi County), and Mr. Joseph Kanyiri (Lamu County).

Mr. Leparmarai praised the Commission for its collaborative approach in resolving public complaints raised against government offices and officers.

The courtesy visits took place on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
