Gabriel Guilavogui visits AOB
On July 9 2015 Mr. Gabriel Guilavogui, IT Director of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Guinea, visited the IOI General Secretariat and the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB) .
IOI Secretary General Günther Kräuter welcomed Mr. Guilavogui at the premises of the Austrian Ombudsman Board that is also the seat of the IOI General Secretariat. After an introduction to the work of the AOB and the IOI, Ulrike Grieshofer, Head of the IOI General Secretariat, took the opportunity to recall that the IOI offers the possibility to apply for regional subsidies and to participate in various trainings. These membership benefits are of special interest to institutions that only recently have been established.
The meeting proceeded with an exchange of experiences between Mr. Guilavogui and Bryan Lagus, staff member of the IT Department of the AOB. As the Ombudsman Institution of Guinea has only started its work in March of this year, Mr. Guilavogui was especially interested in learning about the basic organisation of the AOB in its main fields of activities. Topics of discussion were amongst others the reception, handling and centralization of complaints from an IT point of view and the statistical treatment of data.
A final tour around the office, including the archives of the IOI, also proved very useful to Mr. Guilavogui, who will report back to the Ombudsman Office in Guinea about his findings.
