BackMs. Irshad Begum, widow of government employee, approached Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh for transfer of family pension. According to details, Police Department forwarded the application of Mst. Irshad Begum to District Accounts Officer, Mirpurkhas for transfer of Family pension in her name but the officials were avoiding to do the needful and their agents were demanding illegal gratification.
To provide relief to the complainant, Ombudsman Sindh issued directives to the authorities concerned to initiate enquiry against delinquent officers. Due to intervention of the Ombudsman, the cumbersome scrutiny procedure of Accounts Department was expedited. On 13.03.2014 complainant informed this institution that Family pension has been transferred in her name.
The complainant appreciated the role of the Ombudsman for taking prompt action and providing speedy justice to her.
