PAKISTAN/SINDH | Education works department completed the school building on the order of Ombudsman

Mr. Haji Ali Khan a villager of District Naushahro Feroze, approached Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh for completion of school building in his village. According to details, government had sanctioned Rs.12,00,000/- for the construction of Government Girls Primary School at the village Ali Khan Khose, U.C. Noorpur, District Naushahro Feroze but the contractor allegedly embezzled the funds in collusion with the Executive Engineer, P.W.D. and left the work incomplete.

Being custodian of public interest, Ombudsman Sindh issued directives to the authorities concerned to conduct enquiry against the responsible officers. Investigation revealed that the allegations leveled by the complainant were true. Contractor had left school building without executing electrification work. Due to intervention of the Ombudsman Works Department was obliged to complete school building in all respect. On 18.03.2014 complainant informed this institution that Education & Works Department had completed the school building.

This decision provided urgent relief to the aggrieved community where school was located.
