SG Gaby Schwarz with 1st Vice President Mohamed Benalilou
IOI Secretary General Gaby Schwarz and the new 1st Vice-President and Ombudsman of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Mohamed Benalilou, met each other for a first meeting on future cooperation on the premises of the Austrian Ombudsman Board.
The focus of the meeting was on topics such as strengthening international cooperation between ombudsman institutions and the role of ombudsman institutions at UN level, an area in which the Moroccan ombudsman institution has extraordinary expertise with regard to the UN Resolution on the role of Ombudsman and mediator institutions in the promotion and protection of human rights, good governance and the rule of law. They agreed to closely collaborate to jointly implement visions and goals for the more than 200 member institutions.
