The IOI is pleased to announce its first training course for a Spanish-speaking audience. This course, which will be hosted by the Defensoría del Pueblo de la Provincia de Santa Fe, will be held from 9 to 10 June 2016 in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.
The training programme is aimed at ombudsmen and senior staff of ombudsman offices and will be carried out by renowned trainers from Latin America in collaboration with the Scottish Queen Margaret University, which is specialised in ombudsman and complaint handling practice. The specific IOI edition will, for the first time, be held in Spanish. It consists of a two-day training course focusing on the developing role of the ombudsman, the planning of complex investigations, the evaluation of evidence, and the conducting of systemic investigations. Guided by the trainers, the delegates will have the opportunity to look at challenges that ombudsman institutions are facing today and to discuss and resolve their current problems.
Exceptionally, the IOI training course in Rosario will be free of charge for IOI member as well as non-member institutions. Travel and accommodation costs will be borne by the participants.
Further details on the programme will be published in the IOI newsletter in due time. If you have any further questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact the IOI General Secretariat.
