Free electronic access to study on European ombudsman institutions

Against the background of intensified scientific cooperation and exchange of best practice models among members and the first I.O.I. funded research project conducted in the APOR region, the I.O.I. General Secretariat is pleased to offer all I.O.I. Members the opportunity of free electronic access to the following publication:

Kucsko-Stadlmayer, Gabriele (ed.): "European Ombusman-Institutions. A comparative legal analysis regarding the multifaceted realisation of an idea", Springer Wien New York, 2008.

In a recent statement Secretary General Kostelka said: "I am convinced that this comparative legal study that was published by the European region in 2007/2008 contains well founded information about approaches, assignments and competencies of Ombudsman institutions in 49 European states and therefore will be very helpful as a book of reference. It can also provide a valuable incentive for the status and potential of development of the Ombudsman regime." He also expressed his hope that members will find Dr. Kucsko-Stadlmayer's research study provides an interesting overview of the powers and tasks of European administrative control bodies.

On notification, the General Secretariat of the I.O.I. will be happy to arrange free electronic access to all interested members.
