The Human Rights Commissioner of Ukraine, Lyudmyla Denisova, visited Ombudsman and Secretary General of the IOI, Werner Amon, at the Ombudsman Board in Vienna. The main topic of the conversation was the dramatic situation in Ukraine and the human rights violations resulting from the acts of war. The Human Rights Commissioner reported numerous crimes against humanity.
She said that together with her office, she continues to make efforts throughout the country to provide a broad and active range of assistance to affected persons, despite the aggravated situation. She asked the IOI and its active network to help make information from Ukraine available to the public in order to counter the spread of false reports and fake news.
Ms. Denisova expressed her gratitude for the great sympathy her office and Ukraine are receiving from Europe and the world. "I can assure Human Rights Commissioner Lyudmyla Denisova of the fullest solidarity and support of the Austrian Ombudsman Board and the IOI," said Ombudsman Amon at the end of the meeting.
