BackThe 4th Annual Meeting of the National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) from EU Member States and several European countries that was hosted by the European Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) was held on 5 April 2011 in the premises of FRA in Vienna, Austria.
I.O.I. Secretary General Peter Kostelka took the opportunity of this Vienna-based event, to invite representatives of European I.O.I. member institutions, who participated in the aforementioned FRA event, to pay a brief visit to the I.O.I. General Secretariat.
The I.O.I. General Secretariat was pleased to welcome the Human Rights Ombudsman of Slovenia, as well as legal experts from the offices of the Hungarian Civil Rights Ombudsman, the Ombudsman of Bulgaria, the Ombudsman of Spain (Defensor del Pueblo) and the Portuguese Ombudsman (Provedor de Justica) on the evening of 4 April 2011.
The representatives of these I.O.I. members took the advantage of this informal get-together to hear about the I.O.I.'s most recent developments and learn more details about projects currently implemented by the General Secretariat.
