IOI | International Women's Day

On Wednesday 8 March, International Women’s Day, the IOI President Chris Field PSM issued a statement noting that the IOI recognizes and celebrates the exceptional women who lead, and all those women who work for, offices of the Ombudsman, Public Defenders, Mediators and other human rights institutions around the world. The IOI is committed to women in leadership and ensuring that the work of Ombudsman advances the safety, health and fundamental rights of women everywhere.

“On this day, I pay particular tribute to these extraordinary women; each a friend and all deeply valued colleagues on the Executive of the IOI: IOI Secretary General and Chair, Austrian Ombudsman Board, Ms Gaby Schwarz; IOI First Vice President, Ombudsman of Dayton-Montgomery County, Ms Dianne Welborn; IOI Treasurer and Public Protector of Zambia, Ms Caroline Sokoni; and IOI Regional President, Caribbean and Latin America and President of the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City, Ms Nashieli Ramírez Hernández.” said President Field.
