IOI | IOI President attends the offices of Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman of the United Kingdom, Rob Behrens CBE

IOI President Chris Field PSM had the great privilege of joining his dear friend Rob Behrens CBE, Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman of the United Kingdom (PHSO), Vice President of the European Region of the IOI and Director of the World Board of the IOI, at his Citygate offices in Manchester.

The PHSO is one of the world’s largest and best-regarded Ombudsman offices, led brilliantly by Ombudsman Behrens and his senior executive team. A tour of the office was a chance to hear from, and discuss issues with, deeply knowledgeable, dedicated and passionate staff; a series of briefings from senior staff exemplified Ombudsman best practice; and a deeply enjoyable Q and A session with 250 staff finished the day. The previous evening President Field stood with thousands of wonderful Mancunians (or at least those that are City supporters!), braving heavy rain and a thunderstorm, to watch the open top bus parade of all-conquering, treble-winning Manchester City.

I sincerely thank the staff of the PHSO for welcoming my Chief of Staff Rebecca Poole and I so warmly to their office, for their enthusiasm for their work and commitment to the values of the Ombudsman institution and extend to them my appreciation as President of the IOI for the work they do in making a real difference for the people of the United Kingdom” said President Field.
