IOI | IOI President undertakes formal exchange with the Mayor of Kaohsiung, Mr Chen Chi-Mai

IOI President Chris Field PSM was delighted to meet, and participate in a formal exchange, with the Mayor of Kaohsiung, Mr Chen Chi-Mai. The meeting was also attended by a number of the Mayor’s staff as well as President Chen Chu and Members of the Control Yuan.

"The Mayor and I discussed the vital values of the rule of law and fundamental human rights and the role of the IOI in protecting and promoting these values, alongside of reiterating my unwavering support for the Control Yuan” said President Field.

Kaohsiung is an extraordinary city that has transformed itself from a heavy industrial period to one of magnificent modernity, with deep respect for the environment, culture and the arts, business and a profound commitment to human rights. Very much recognising its history, it also operates the largest port in Taiwan, servicing Kaohsiung’s nearly 3 million people and indeed all of Taiwan.
