BackThe Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Ms Valeriya Lutkovska and the Director of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR/OSCE) Mr Janez Lenarčič signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
Within the framework of the Memorandum parties agreed to carry out the analysis of the national legislation of Ukraine concerning the promotion of gender equality and fight against gender violence, including domestic violence, with examples of positive practice of implementation of legislation in force of OSCE member States. Upon results of the analysis of the legislative base it is planned to hold the round-table and bilateral consultations concerning the role of national human rights institutions in protection and promotion of women rights and gender equality.
The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska is convinced that “the Memorandum will promote to achieve common goals to ensure gender equality and to gradually overcome problems of gender violence”.
