The IOI signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Alliance for Ministries and Infrastructure for Peace (GAMIP) to strengthen the cooperation and foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of building a culture of peace.
GAMIP highlighted the important role Ombudsman institutions play in building democratic citizenship and strengthening a culture of peace based on ethical principles and in compliance with the rule of law.
By signing this cooperation agreement both organizations emphasise the high value of this cooperation agreement and expressed their deep hope that members from both organisations will mutually benefit of this joint cooperation.
GAMIP and IOI agree to collaborate, in order to enhance the actions that both institutions undertake with regard to the following topics: awareness, promotion, dissemination and training for building a culture of peace; education for regional and global citizenship; respect for human rights; and access to justice.
The Global Alliance for Ministries and Infrastructures for Peace (GAMIP) is a worldwide community of civil society campaigns, organizations, committed citizens, and government officials supporting the development of ministries and other infrastructures for peace. GAMIP supports peace workers, raises awareness on infrastructures for peace and facilitates the encouragement and support for existing and new national campaigns for Ministries and/or Departments of Peace and the establishment of peace academies and other peace infrastructure elements.
