The General Inspection Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a memorandum of understanding with the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman. The MoU consists of 6 articles and its purpose is a cooperation to strengthen the Ombudsman and anti-corruption activities; Also to enhance the capacity of the parties in the fields of prevention, transparency, and accountability. According to the terms of the MoU, the parties apply the laws and regulations to exchange information and experiences in the areas of ombudsmanship.
Since the fundamental task and mandate of the General Inspection Organization of Iran is to supervise proper conduct of affairs and the correct implementation of laws by the administrative organs of the government of Iran and the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman's mandate is to supervise the administration and to strengthen good administrative practice at national and regional levels, the purpose of the MOU is to set up a framework for the cooperation and exchange of experience as well as to indicate means of how to achieve them. Meanwhile, the differences between the systems would be regarded. Also, The Parties agreed willingly to present each other the new relevant academic achievements. In addition, the Parties will appoint their follow-up and evaluation coordinator.
According to the MoU signed in August in Copenhagen, the document came into force for an undetermined period and can be amended by their joint written consent.
Also any difference, claim or dispute between the Parties concerning the interpretation, implementation or application of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be settled amicably through mutual consultation or direct negotiation between the Parties through diplomatic channels, without reference to any third party or international tribunal.
