PAKISTAN | Municipal administration hands over kiosks to complainant on order of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh

Several complainants approached Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr Asad Ashraf Malik, stating that they had deposited Rs.57,000/- each to Municipal Administration Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town for the allotment of small shops (kiosks), but they were neither provided the kiosks nor did they receive a refund of their deposited money.

A series of hearings were held whereby it transpired that for establishing hawker zones and installation of kiosks on vacant space of municipal lands, Municipal Administration Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town received Rs.57,000/- each from the complainant and others and T.M.A. paid this amount to M/s. AMF Hackyel (Pvt) Limited for construction of kiosks, but the construction was being delayed on flimsy pretexts.

To redress the grievance of complainant Ombudsman Sindh directed the Municipal Administration either to handover kiosks or refund the deposited amount. Orders of the Ombudsman were complied with and the kiosks were constructed and handed over to the complainants redressing their grievance. Complainant thanked the Ombudsman for his prompt action.
