BackThe Pacific Ombudsman Alliance issued its latest Newsletter in February 2014. This edition reports on the Samoan Ombudsman’s expanded mandate for the protection and promotion of human rights and the new challenges this will bring about, such as financial and staff resources, in order to carry out the new functions in a proper and effective manner.
The POA newsletter also includes information regarding a major fraud investigation conducted by the Auditor General of the Marshall Islands, as well as several outreach activities and a financial investigation training hosted by the Ombudsman Commission of Papua New Guinea.
Furthermore the newsletter informs about the upcoming POA annual members meeting which will be held in Australia in April 2014.
