Pakistan | New Federal Tax Ombudsman takes office

Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera was appointed as the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) on 8th September, 2017 replacing Hon’ble Mr. Abdur Rauf Chaudhry on completion of his mandated tenure of four years. As incumbent Federal Tax Ombudsman he also holds the positions of Chairman Steering Committee of the OIC Ombudsman Association and President of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsmen (a body of 12 Federal and Provincial Ombudsman Institutions in Pakistan).

Mr. Sukhera holds a post graduate degree in law from Punjab University Lahore – a leading educational institution in Pakistan - and has attended numerous prestigious professional courses and trainings within and outside the country during his service career. As a member of the Police Service of Pakistan, he rose to the highest rank of his career passing through 36 years of public service embedded with marvelous achievements in Pakistan. Before joining the FTO Office he served on a highly accredited post of Inspector General of Police in Punjab and Baluchistan – two major Provinces of Pakistan.
