JAPAN | New Head of the I.O.I. member institution

The I.O.I. welcomes the new incumbent of its Japanese member institution. On August 26th 2011, Hideo Arai has been appointed Director-General of the Administrative Evaluation Bureau at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). Mr. Arai  succeeds Junichi Tanaka and previously served as Deputy Director-General of the Administrative Evaluation Bureau. He introduced Susumu Kamimura as his new deputy.

Hideo Arai has a degree in Political Science from the University of Waseda and was in charge of several positions at the MIC, including Director for Policy Evaluation and Director of the  Statistical Planning Division before taking over as Deputy Director-General of the Administrative Evaluation Bureau in 2007. In his new function Mr. Arai will be hosting the 12th AOA Conference in Japan in December 2011.
