AJK Ombudsman Mirza Zaffar Hussain
The Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has appointed Mr Mirza Zaffar Hussain a known lawyer of the Supreme Court and former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association as Ombudsman AJK.
Mr Mirza Zaffar Hussain, Honorable Ombudsman of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) was born in 1944. He got his early education from Government High School Barnala and did his matriculation and Intermediate from Punjab Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore.
He did graduation and LLB from the University of Punjab in 1971 and 1975 respectively and started his career as a Lawyer from District Courts in the year 1981.
Mirza Zaffar Hussain has a vast experience of legal profession as a Lawyer of the High Court and the Supreme Court. He remained President of the Supreme Court Bar Association from 2007 to 2009.
He was appointed as Ombudsman of Azad Jammu & Kashmir on 4 December 2017 and was administered oath on 7 December 2017 by the Acting President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir at Aiwan-e-Sadar in Muzaffarabad. He assumed the charge of his Office (Ombudsman AJK) on the same day.
