Canada | New Ombudsperson Québec appointed

On Wednesday, March 15, 2017, the National Assembly proceeded to appoint Madam Marie Rinfret as Ombudsperson.

In the past 30 years, Madam Rinfret has acted as legal counsel and director of legal affairs within Québec's public service. In 2011, she was named Chair of the pay equity commission.

Marie Rinfret is the seventh in a line of Ombudspersons in Québec. She succeeds Madam Raymonde Saint-Germain, who left office in November 2016. Madam Rinfret will take office on March 27, 2017.
