Norway | Norwegian NPM releases Annual Report 2016

The Annual Report 2016 contains a summary of results achieved in 2016 as well as the following thematic articles:

• Body searches – balancing security and dignity
• The right to information
• Institutional culture and management: risk or protection
• Women in prison

While the scope of the preventive efforts was expanded in 2016 to include visits to child welfare institutions and mental health care institutions for children and young people, in 2017 the focus is on children and young people deprived of their liberty will continue. This includes making visits to child welfare institutions, but also to prisons for juvenile and young inmates.
