georgia | October update about the activities of the Georgian Public Defender

The Office of the Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia shares an update about its main activities in the month of October.

In October, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria paid an official visit to Washington, where she held meetings with high officials of the US Senate, the Presidential Administration and the Department of State, as well as heads of international organizations.

The office presented the 2021 Report on the Situation of Human Rights and Freedoms in Georgia in October and it held a joint presentation of the report on the situation of the rights of asylum seekers and internationally protected persons together with the UNHCR.
