To mark its 50th Anniversary, the Office of the Ombudsman, within the Office of the State Comptroller and Ombudsman, issued a special jubilee publication.
This jubilee publication contains highly interesting articles written by staff members of the Office, alongside academic researchers, and features a fascinating article by Mr. Peter Tyndall, former IOI President, titled "The IOI, Sharing Best Practice and Supporting Global Standards during COVID-19".
The articles appearing in the publication describe the establishment of the Office of the Ombudsman of Israel and reflect different aspects of its work, including the development and use of mediation in the Office as a tool for complaint investigation; the conflicting loyalties of the Israeli ombudsman; the right to access the administration and the protection of whistleblowers.
The publication marks the first shoots of collaboration between the Office of the Ombudsman and the world of academia, a relationship that the Office hopes to nurture in order to enhance knowledge in different fields, including public administration.
Attached are abstracts in English of the articles contained in the jubilee publication. The abstract of Mr. Tyndall's article includes a link to the full article.
