Armenia | Ombudsman becomes OHCHR Representative in Central Asia

On 2 February 2011, the Armenian Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan  announced his resignation. He has accepted the post of Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Central Asia.

In his last press conference in the capacity of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia he summarized and presented the main results of the activities of the Human Rights Defender’s Office during the five years of holding the office. Please find the full speech below.
