BackAzerbaijan Child and Peace Network (ACYPN) and the Resource Center of the Ombudsman on Child Rights held an event on the occasion of 5 June- World Environment Day as previous years.
The event was organized in “Eco Park: Environmental Studies Center” Public Union in Gala settlement with the title “Work for healthy environment”. The aim of the event was to educate children in the spirit love to the environment, efficient use of our natural resources, shaping their ecological consciousness, also preservation of biological diversity.
The specialized advisor of the Ombudsman informed participants about the Commissioner’s comprehensive activity in protecting and ensuring human rights, including environmental rights of citizens, the actions taken for promotion and formation of ecological culture, as well as the cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the joint events.
It was noted that such events are aimed at joining global youth environmental campaign “International Dialogue for Environmental Action” IDEA started by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, also uniting children around environmental issues, integration to the problem of ecological imbalance and environmental pollution, one of the main global challenges faced in the world.
