Following the successful organization of the inaugural regional colloquium for Ombudsman Institutions, held in Nairobi in 2013, the Commission on Administrative Justice (Ombudsman) of Kenya published an outcome report on “Repositioning the Ombudsman - Challenges and Prospects for the African Ombudsman Institution”.
The Commission on Administrative Justice (Ombudsman) of Kenya published a report of the inaugural regional Colloquium of African Ombudsmen, which was held in Nairobi from 18 - 21 September 2013. The Colloquium, which was the first of its kind in Africa, offered an invaluable experience and platform for collaboration among the Ombudsman institutions in Africa.
The outcome report (see below) captures the discussion during the meeting and shows the importance of the Colloquium as a “platform for meaningful and robust partnership among the Ombudsman institutions in Africa”, as Commissioner Otiende Amollo, Chairperson of the Commission on Administrative Justice Kenya stresses in his statement in the report.
