ANGOLA | Ombudsman’s Office and the Red Cross of Angola sign cooperation agreement

The Ombudsman, Florbela Rocha Araújo, and the President of the Red Cross of Angola, Delfina Cumandala, signed a Cooperation Agreement on Monday, 9 December 2024, within the scope of the defense of the rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens.

The legal instrument, composed of twelve clauses, is based on the Statute of the Ombudsman of Angola and aims to share and exchange experiences, through training and technical qualification of the staff of both institutions, in matters related to the defense of the rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens, international humanitarian law and in the field of conflict administration and mediation.

In her speech, the Ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, clarified that the Angolan Red Cross will help to report any occurrences that constitute acts of violation of these rights in its actions.

In turn, the President of the Red Cross of Angola, Delfina Cumandala, guaranteed her commitment to the partnership with the Ombudsman's Office, for the continued protection of human dignity, to face social challenges together.
