AUSTRALIA/QUEENSLAND | Ombudsman’s oversight role expanded

The Queensland Parliament has recently passed legislation to return oversight of the state’s child safety complaints system to the Queensland Ombudsman

This follows a major review of the child safety system - the Queensland Child Protection Commission of Inquiry.

In addition, recent changes to the state’s Crime and Misconduct Commission will likely see an expanded role for the Queensland Ombudsman in reviewing misconduct within the Queensland public sector.
