PAKISTAN/SINDH | Ombudsman Sindh inaugurates Regional Office in District South

To provide prompt and inexpensive justice to the people at their door steps’ is the motto of Ombudsman. In pursuance of this objective the Honourable Ombudsman Sindh Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik inaugurated yet another Regional Office of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh in District South Karachi on 15th May 2014. This is the 16th Regional Office in the Province.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Asad stressed the role and importance of the Institution of Ombudsman as grievance redressal mechanism.  He urged members of the Institution to work devotedly for speedy redressal of grievances as most of the people were coming with genuine complaints and high expectation.  It was thus incumbent upon them to come up to their expectations and help in providing justice to them against administrative excesses.  He said that cases relating to mal-administration were growing in number and the Ombudsman Institution was doing its best to provide relief, but it was necessary to introduce proper checks and reforms in the department by the government.  He hoped that the Regional Office will play its due role in addressing public complaints.  He added that opening of regional offices was in line with the concept of providing speedy and in expensive justice to the people at their door-steps.

The Ombudsman Sindh has been continuously pursuing the case of more regional offices all over Sindh.  Currently 15 regional offices in different districts of Sindh are operating and few more are likely to be opened in the interior in near future.
