PAKISTAN | Ombudsman Sindh takes action against police excess

A complaint was filed against police officials of Police Station Pakistan Bazar, who had implicated the complainant in a false criminal case.

On close scrutiny of the original complaint it was found that the complainant's name was subsequently interpolated. As the handwriting and ink impression of the relevant portion was different from the rest of the text of the original complaint, it was established that it was an illegal act of involving complainant. This was thus a glaring example of mal-administration.

To provide relief to the complainant, Ombudsman Sindh issued directives to the authorities concerned that to initiate enquiry against the main culprit and other Police Officials mentioned in the complaint and take stern action against the persons found responsible.
