Canada | Ombudsman strategies for acceptance of recommendations

The Office of Ontario Ombudsman Paul Dubé began preparing this paper in response to the recent request for information for an IOI research study.

Ombudsman Dubé has since turned it into a standalone paper that he is sharing with staff and colleagues.

The paper is based on examples from the Ontario Ombudsman’s many systemic investigations. It discusses different strategies for building relationships, drafting recommendations and persuading public sector officials to accept them.
