IOI President Chris Field provides address at 30th anniversary celebrations of Cyprus Ombudsman
Chris Field, President of the International Ombudsman Institute and Western Australian Ombudsman, delivered a speech on the occasion of the virtual presentation of the 2021 Annual Report of the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City, held on 30 June 2022. President Field was invited to speak at the event by the President of the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City, Ms Nashieli Ramírez Hernández.
“There can be no more critical matter to the success of our collective international efforts to protect human rights, than ensuring there are spaces for exchange and dissemination of information. Work internationally can only be successful when it is properly informed by work undertaken at a local level” said President Field.
“I acknowledge the exceptional work of President Ramírez Hernández and the Commission for the citizens of Mexico City. On the occasion of the launch of this important Annual Report, I congratulate the President and the Commission” said President Field.
