The Public Services Ombudsman for Wales has published his Annual Report for 2014/15, which was laid before the National Assembly for Wales on 24 June 2015. In his introduction, the Ombudsman has drawn attention to the continued increase in the number of complaints to the office. Complaints about public service providers rose by 6% compared with the position for 2013/14. Notable was the fact that July 2014 saw both the highest number of enquiries and the highest number of complaints received in any one month since the office came into existence in April 2006. Also notable during the year was the National Assembly’s inquiry into the powers of the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales - it is hoped that the resultant recommendations will now progress to new legislation.
